Finding Strength Through the Struggle
Struggling through life? Sometimes we find ourselves in a place that we do not want to be. Difficult circumstances that were either forced on us or circumstances of our own making cause us to falter. Webster’s dictionary defines falter as “to start to lose strength or momentum”. It’s discouraging to attempt to go to work, take care of our family or enjoy an outing when we are losing our momentum. We feel exhausted, preoccupied and our joy is depleted. We want to shut the blinds, fall in the bed and hope for a better day tomorrow. Perhaps this would be a short term fix, but not ideal. We need skills to thrive, not only exist. Sean Covey, a well-known author and speaker states: “Don’t struggle about the struggle. In other words, life’s full of ups and downs. So if you’re struggling, don’t worry, everyone else has or will at some point.”
In other words, struggling is a normal part of life and worrying will only cause more stress and struggle. Struggles make us wiser. Struggles create an inner strength we can take through life. Gain momentum through your struggle by embracing it as a learning tool and soul strengthening. Find strength in your struggle to face your day. Let your soul be strengthened and become wiser. This is the way of struggles.
